The 270 ELL season, the 9th regular season of the Elite League Limmie's Kayl'hen Era, began with the defending Galactic Cup of Limmie champions Vandelhelm Jets losing to the Coruscant Senators 3-32 in a reprisal of the 269 Galactic Cup match, and ended with the 115th Galactic Cup Final, the league's championship game, where the Nar Shaddaa Smugglers defeated the defending champion Vandelhelm Jets 37-1.
In the middle of the 270 season, the Elite League officials union went on strike, which stopped all Elite League play for several weeks. Though bringing in robot referees was discussed, the League ultimately decided against it.
During the Great Quiet, Holonet Sports Network hosted the 270 HSN All-Star Game on Cloud City, which featured players drawn primarily from Elite League teams, as well as some Premier League Limmie and Galactic Championship Limmie Association players.
Season structure[]
The ELL season featured the following schedule:
an exhibition season to play friendlies versus teams from other leagues;
a 7-game, 7-week regular season; and
a 4-team single-elimination playoff, culminating in the Premiership Final
Regular Season[]
The ELL played an unbalanced, seven game, round-robin scheduling formula in which every team played each other once.
